Capitol Hill United Neighborhoods Community Events
Capitol Hill United Neighborhoods Assemblies
Neighborhood Assemblies take place in November of each year to elect new neighborhood delegates to the Capitol Hill United Neighborhoods board and to discuss current issues and concerns within the neighborhood.
National Night Out
National Night Out began in 1984 as an effort to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. This is a nation-wide annual celebration designed to:
- Heighten awareness about crime and drug prevention;
- Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs;
- Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
- Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and won’t tolerate illegal behavior.
