Jim Peiker Award for Outstanding Historic Preservation
A person or organization who has worked diligently to preserve historic assets and character of our neighborhoods.
Colfax Avenue Award
Outstanding contributions toward the revitalization of Colfax Avenue as a thriving main street and pedestrian-friendly neighborhood avenue.
Neighborhood Character Award
Outstanding contributions to the preservation and/or development of our Greater Capitol Hill neighborhood character through land use and beautification.
Safe Neighborhood Award
Outstanding contributions to making our neighborhoods safe places, free of crime.
Parks and Public Spaces Award
Outstanding contributions to the preservation and enhancement of our parks and public spaces.
Award for Neighborhood Connection
Outstanding contributions to strengthening the fabric our neighborhoods by bringing people together in common cause and celebration.
Homelessness/Affordable Housing Award
Outstanding contributions to ending homelessness and ensuring affordable housing in our neighborhoods.
Tom Knorr Award for Community Service
A nominee for the Tom Knorr Award has demonstrated exceptional dedication and community spirit in their work to strengthen the Greater Capitol Hill neighborhoods over time. In keeping with Tom’s distinctive approach to building community, the nominee will be a person who brings people together, builds partnerships and helps people to realize we can accomplish more collectively and become a better neighborhood as we work together.
Awards are presented during the CHUN Annual Meeting at Saint John’s Cathedral, 1350 Washington St. held in January.
