CAPITOL HILL UNITED NEIGHBORHOODS exists to make the neighborhoods between Broadway and Colorado Blvd, 23rd and 1st Ave more beautiful, vibrant, and economically inclusive. We are an organization for the community, composed of everyday people within the community.
We invite you to join us in helping preserve what we love about our neighborhoods, improve what exists today, and plan for the challenges we will face in the future. We welcome all commitment levels, interests, and backgrounds to help make our corner a little nicer.

🏘 Exploring the “Missing Middle” — Walking Tour Highlights
On October 2, CHUN’s Urban Planning Committee and YIMBY Denver President Ryan Keeney led neighbors on an eye-opening Missing Middle Housing Walking Tour through Greater Capitol Hill. The tour explored the importance of “human-scale” housing — duplexes, triplexes, ADUs, and small apartment buildings — that balance affordability with neighborhood character.
Participants strolled through historic blocks and newer developments, learning how zoning and design choices impact everything from density to sustainability. Ryan discussed how Denver’s housing shortage calls for creative solutions that preserve the charm of older neighborhoods while making room for diverse housing options. We even were allowed to tour the inside of a neighbors property!
Attendees asked thoughtful questions about zoning codes, parking challenges, and architectural harmony. Conversations continued over tacos and margaritas afterward, proving that community dialogue doesn’t always have to happen in a meeting room...sometimes, it happens best on the sidewalks where we live.
The event underscored CHUN’s commitment to fostering a livable, walkable, and inclusive city. We hope participants left inspired, informed, and ready to advocate for balanced growth that reflects the values of Greater Capitol Hill.

Thank You for Showing Up for Our Neighbors 💙
As we reflect on the holiday season, Capitol Hill United Neighborhoods (CHUN) extends our deepest thanks to everyone who showed up, donated, and supported our food drives this November and December. Because of you, no one had to face the holidays alone or hungry.
Your generosity brought CHUN’s shared belief to life: “No One Should Be Hungry. Period.” Through your thoughtful donations and community spirit, families across Capitol Hill were able to celebrate with dignity, nourishment, and care.
During our Thanksgiving food drive, neighbors dropped off canned goods and holiday staples that helped fill pantries and put meals on tables. From pantry essentials to Thanksgiving favorites, each item you contributed made a tangible difference. Your attention to detail—donating foods families could easily prepare—helped ensure every contribution was truly usable and meaningful.
In December, your impact continued through Feeding the Future. In partnership with the Denver Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.®, your support helped address a critical need: childhood hunger. Because of you, we are able to provide consistent, kid-friendly food to students who often lack access to meals on weekends—support that will carry them through the next six months. That is life-changing impact.
Every can, box, and bag you donated represented hope, care, and community. You didn’t just give food—you gave peace of mind to parents, nourishment to children, and strength to our neighborhood.
Thank you for proving once again that when our community comes together, we can make a powerful difference. 💛
Because here in Capitol Hill, no one should be hungry. Period.
